CAPITAL EXPENDITURE 2000 - 2007

Details of the industry’s capital expenditure, for the years 2000 through 2007 may be shown as follows –

During 2006, the industry’s capital expenditure increased in Rand terms by R2,64 billion or 73,8% to reach a record of R6,2 billion.  Planned investments for 2007 remain at near record levels.

The 2006 and 2007 figures may increase further since capital expenditure data from a number of specialist truck manufacturers is still awaited.
